The county’s Government Energy Aggregation program is meant to bring savings to residents by procuring a licensed thirdparty electrical supplier to provide to energy for those who don’t opt out of the program, according to Nicholas Reynolds, chief operating officer of Commercial Utility Consultants, a consulting company hired by the county to oversee the program.

The Township of Wayne is working with a county-run program to help reduce electric bills for township residents. The Township has joined Passaic County’s cooperative to pursue Government Energy Aggregation, a state supported process. The Township has participated in a similar county-operated cost-saving cooperative for municipal energy needs for the past few years.
As Cinnaminson fire commissioner Richard Dietrich sees it, an energy proposal being pushed by the Burlington County freeholders can only be of benefit to towns. “I think it’s a great idea,” said the Cinnaminson resident who attended a meeting at the F.W. Holbein Middle School on Tuesday night. “The economics issue is so very important.”
